    The “Raiders” Story Conference

Post by missingyoumadly on Wed Mar 11, 2009 9:19 pm

This is so great and funny. The transcript of the story conference between Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Lawrence Kasdan at the "planning" stages of Raiders of the Lost Arc. It is long but totally worth it. My favorite part:

    On the name:

L — Do you have a name for this person?

    G — I do for our leader.

S — I hate this, but go ahead.

G — Indiana Smith. It has to be unique. It's a character. Very Americana square. He was born in Indiana.

L — What does she call him? “Indy?”

G — That's what I was thinking. Or “Jones.” Then people can call him “Jones.”

made me want to be an archaeologist when i was a kid! Haha!

...but its sad to grow up and find out that being an archeologist will never be as cool as "Indy" makes it out to be Crying or Very sad

Does every kid go through an "archeologist" phase as a kid or is it just geeks like us? lol...and yeah, movies like that and even Jurassic Park make it look way cool. LOL, I guess wandering around digging up a whole lotta nothing pretty much most of the time is better than some gigs, but still...
